Jason Funivall
Managing Director
IFE Level 3 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection
Jason has over 30 years’ experience working in passive fire protection. He started his career working on the tools and in 1995 he joined his father David Furnivall to start Firetech. He has managed a wide range of projects in both the construction and oil and gas sectors. Some of the earliest projects he worked on included Airbus UK Broughton and The Øresund Tunnel Denmark. More recent projects have included Manchester Airport Transformation Programme and Perenco Gas Modifications Project. He is currently leading the team on Manchester’s Our Town Hall project.
Piotr Korn
Estimating & Technical Manager
IFE Level 3 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection
Piotr is responsible for estimating as well as developing design proposals and software implementation. He joined Firetech in 2011 working on the tools but was soon promoted to Contracts Manager and then again in 2018 to his current role. He has been instrumental developing compliance procedures and is passionate about developing the right design and commercial solutions to meet clients requirements.
Josh Dodds
Contracts Manager / Health, Safety & Enviromental Manger

FSIDip (Fire Stopping Inspection Diploma),
Josh joined Firetech in 2020 as a Trainee Contracts Manager after graduating from Salford University. He has since gone on to achieve the NEBOSH Managing Construction Safely qualification and in 2021 was promoted to HSE Manager a role which he carries out in parallel with his position as Contracts Manger. He has been key to delivering several projects including Manchester’s Circle Square, Affinity Living Development and he is currently managing a range of projects including VMiC Oxford the UK's dedicated Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre Manchester’s Our Town Hall.
Laura Faux
Contracts Manager

Laura joined Firetech in 2019 as an Office Manager. Her exceptional organisational skills and ability to keep the office running smoothly quickly made her an indispensable team member, involved in all aspects of the business. In 2022, Laura led the successful process to achieve ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Certification, showcasing her commitment to excellence. This accomplishment earned her a promotion to Business Services Manager, where she was responsible for guiding all departments toward achieving business goals and strategy. Recently, Laura transitioned to the role of Contracts Manager, where her customer service and organisational skills have already proven to be invaluable assets to the operations team.
Johnny Alder

Promat Certified Fendolite MII Applicator Trainer
An industry veteran Johnny has nearly 30 years’ experience working within passive fire protection. He joined Firetech from his previous role at Promat where he worked globally as Technical & Application Specialist for Construction, Tunnels & Oil & Gas Sectors. During his time at Promat he was also closely involved research and development, global approvals and testing. Johnny is extremely customer orientated and his knowledge of Fendolite MII is second to none.

Sahar Shoaei
Trainee Contracts Manager
Project Management in Construction MSc
Sahar joined us in 2024 as a Trainee Contracts Manager to strengthen our operations team. She has an MSc in Project Management in Construction, and spends much of her time out on site carrying out surveys, assisting in the management, planning, and programming of projects, producing method statements and risk assessments and undertaking quality checks. Sahar has a real strength in building and maintaining client relationships, ensuring our clients’ requirements are met on each project and driving her teams to deliver the best quality outcomes.
Martyna Styber
Business Services Manager
Business Management BSc (Hons)
Martyna joined the business in 2024 from Amazon. Martyna works across most areas of the business and in particular she’s responsible for business analytics – gathering, analysing and presenting data to allow us to make the best business and operational decisions. She’s also the lead on innovation – working with the senior team to develop new ways to improve the efficiency and quality of our procedures and processes. All of this helps us deliver a better service to our clients.
Martyna has a 1st Class Degree in Business Management from Coventry University.
Kapeso Kangwa
Quantity Surveyor
Quantity Surveying BSc (Hons)
Kapeso is responsible for the financial management of all of our projects. He reviews the commercial aspects of new enquiries and supports on quotes. He works closely with the Contracts Managers to complete valuations and applications to ensure we’ve delivered what we set out to, and ensures that we can provide our customers with accurate financial data on their current and completed projects. He also works with the company’s accountants to assist with all aspects of the corporate finance function. Kapeso joined the business in 2024 and is a Salford University Graduate.
Ovidiu Pomana
Project Manager
SMSTS
Ovi was promoted to Project Manager early in 2024, and his job is to survey new projects and propose compliant solutions then manage these projects to meet our clients’ requirements of time, cost and quality. Ovi works with the site teams to ensure that projects are delivered safely, and to a high standard of workmanship, and he’s responsible for making sure that all compliance documentation is accurate and up to date. He has an important role in liaising with manufacturers to ensure that we keep up to speed with their changing product and installation details and ensuring that our site teams are fully briefed on all aspects of their role.
John Warren
Non-Executive Director
Alliance Manchester Business School
John joined us as a Non-Exec to help further professionalise our growing business. He’s been a business advisor for the last 10 years and brings Board level experience of building and operating businesses in the construction and facilities services sectors and an exemplary approach to health and safety. He advises on structure and process, brings insight into major clients’ expectations, and contributes on all aspects of corporate governance. John also works with the operational teams to help develop their management and communication skills.
