Projects: Predominantly Greater Manchester & the North West, with some UK-wide travel
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) + bonus + company vehicle/car allowance

The role
Firetech UK Ltd is looking for a Contracts Manager to strengthen our Construction delivery team, with a particular focus on fire doors alongside wider passive fire protection works. You’ll support the Head of Operations to deliver safe, compliant and profitable projects, with a hands-on approach to planning, coordination and client communication.
We’re open-minded on the level of the appointment – we’ll consider experienced Contracts Managers and strong Project/Assistant Contracts Managers ready for the next step.

Key responsibilities

Manage and coordinate multiple fire door and passive fire protection projects from mobilisation through to handover.

Lead fire door sector, working closely with the Managing Director and Head of Operations to improve and grow the department (subject to level and experience)

Plan programmes, labour and resources, working closely with site supervisors and operatives.

Ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard, with strong QA and Golden Thread records.

Lead day-to-day client communication on allocated projects, tracking actions and resolving issues.

Support commercial delivery by maintaining progress records, assisting with valuations, and identifying variations with supporting evidence.

Coordinate project documentation and close-out, including QA records, certification and O&M information where required.

Work collaboratively with Firetech’s operational teams, estimators and commercial team to support tender planning and smooth project handover

Skills and experience
-
Proven experience managing fire door works and/or passive fire protection projects (installation, remediation, maintenance or refurbishment).

Strong understanding of quality and compliance requirements, including traceability and record keeping.

Confident managing programmes, labour and subcontractors/operatives across multiple live projects.

Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships.

Organised, proactive and able to problem-solve at pace.

Competent with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and comfortable working with digital QA/project systems.

Full UK driving licence

Qualifications (preferred)
-
SMSTS or SSSTS
-
NVQ Level 5 or 6 (Construction / Site / Contracts / Ops Management)

Fire door certification/scheme experience (e.g., BM TRADA / Q-Mark) is desirable, but not essential if you have strong fire door delivery experience.
